Nikon P7800 review

<Nikon D5300 Couponsp>

What is the Nikon P7800?

Nikon's advanced compact offering has long taken the form of the Coolpix 'P' series, with the four-digit range sitting at the top and looking to offer a suitable companion to it's DSLR range for those wanting at times to travel light. The Nikon P7800 is the latest model that looks to build on the success of the previous models in the series with a range of new features and take on the Canon G16.

But, with the growth of the advanced compact market, as well as the drop in price of competing CSCs, the question is does the P7800 remain a relevant shooting proposition, or has technological advancement rendered it obsolete?

SEE ALSO: 10 best cameras you can buy

Nikon P7800: Features

One of the core features that has made the high-end P series a success in previous generations is the fact that it features a larger sensor than is normally found in a compact, and the P7800 retains this selling point.

The P7800 retains the same 12.2MP BSI CMOS sensor as seen in the P7700, which measures in at 1/1.7-inches, as opposed to the smaller 1/2.3-inch sensor. The P7800's BSI sensor should handle noise better then the equivalent sensor technology, although it only has a native ISO 80-1600 - extendible to ISO 3200 and 6400.

Another feature maintained from the previous generation model is the 3-inch, 921k-dot LCD screen which, thanks to a side-mounted hinge, can be rotated around a 270 degree axis for viewing at a variety of angles.

SEE ALSO: 10 best DSLR cameras you can buy

The Nikon P7800 also retains the same 7.1x optical zoom as seen on the model's predecessor, covering an equivalent focal range of 28-200mm and offering an impressive maximum aperture between f/2 and f/4.

One of the standout new additions to the Nikon P7800 is sure to be popular amongst some enthusiast photographers. It now features a relatively substantial electronic viewfinder that measures in at 0.5-inches, has a resolution of 921k-dots and also features a dioptre adjustment.

Another notable feature is the Nikon video capture functionality that's better than some competing models. The P7800 captures full HD video at 1920 x 1080 and at 30fps, while advanced functionality such as wind noise reduction, in-built ND filter and manual exposure control also feature.

While there's no doubting the P7800's positioning as an advanced compact - as shown through the inclusion of PASM shooting modes - it also caters for those that might want to let the camera do the work.

It does so through the presence of an auto shooting mode, a range of scene modes and a host of creative 'Effects' such as 'Cross Process' and 'Zoom Exposure'.

One feature which is sorely missed, owing to the fact that it's now commonplace on competing cameras, is Wi-Fi functionality. Both Wi-Fi and GPS tagging are available with the P7800 although only through the purchase of optional accessories.

Nikon D5300 Digital SLR Wi-Fi Camera

Updated: October 28, 2013

Nikon D5300 Coupons.jpg">

Nikon just introduced the D5300 DSLR camera, which offers an enhanced 24.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor, EXPEED 4 image processing, Vari-angle LCD, GPS and the convenience of built-in Wi-Fi. The mid-range SLR is compact and lightweight (16.9 oz.), and can easily be packed for a day trip or a planned getaway. The small body of the D5300 affords the photographer the freedom to travel while still being easy to handle and comfortable to use.

The D5300 is Nikon's first D-SLR to feature built-in Wi-Fi, allowing the user to share high quality photos instantly. The Nikon D5300 sends images to the user's smart device, allowing them to share their D-SLR quality photos through e-mail and social media. The Nikon D5300 also includes built-in GPS, another first for Nikon D-SLRs. Now the user can geotag images and allow others to see where life has taken them.

The enhanced 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor delivers stunning images and HD videos with heightened clarity and detail due to the removal of the optical low pass filter (OLPF). Its 39-point high-density autofocus system with 9 cross-type sensors quickly locks onto your subject, and Nikon's unique 3D-tracking uses the 2,016-pixel RGB sensor to recognize and follow it across the frame.

Features:

  • Amazing Low Light Performance - For clean, sharp details even in the most challenging lighting conditions including night games and dimly lit restaurants, the Nikon D5300 covers a wide ISO range of 100-12,800 and is expandable to ISO 25,600.
  • EXPEED 4 Image Processing - Nikon's most recent image processing engine drives the rapid response and swift performance of the D5300, while maximizing energy efficiency, reducing image noise and delivering true-to-life colors.
  • Scene Recognition System - To further help users capture the image they intend, the Nikon D5300 features Nikon's Scene Recognition System and 2,016-pixel RGB metering system to analyze and recognize the scene. Utilizing these systems results in adjustments to exposure, AF and white balance to deliver the best photo possible, whether it's a landscape or portrait.
  • 39-Point AF System - Nikon's quick and precise 39-point AF system works with the Scene Recognition System to accurately acquire and track subjects throughout the frame, resulting in tack-sharp images. Kids too active to pose for a photo or pets chasing after a toy are easily captured in brilliant sharpness for memorable photos.
  • 5 Frames-Per-Second - While using the optical viewfinder or in Live View, capture great moments that would have otherwise been missed with the D5300′s 5 frames-per-second (fps) rate.
  • 3.2-inch Vari-Angle LCD monitor - Whether shooting above a crowd or getting low to capture the details of a flower, users can explore new shots from a dramatic point of view with the large 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD monitor. This super sharp (1,037K-dot) screen allows photographers to easily make camera adjustments and read menus, while also allowing them to compose the photo they want clearly when shooting from high or low angles. The rotating LCD makes it easy to capture "selfies" at an arm's length away or frame creative perspectives when capturing still photos and HD video.
  • Full HD 1080p Video Capture - Create movies fit for the big screen with Full HD 1080p video capture at 60p with built-in stereo, wide ISO range for high quality videos in any light and improved full-time AF to keep the subject in focus.
  • NIKKOR Compatibility - The Nikon D5300 is compatible with Nikon's legendary NIKKOR lenses and powerful system accessories, further adding versatility and creativity.

Price and Availability
The Nikon D5300 kit with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens will be available in October 2013 for$1,399.95. Available colors include Black, Red and Gray.

Nikon brings Wi-Fi and improvements to D5300 DSLR, plus pricey 58mm pro-level prime lens

There are several noteworthy improvements in Nikon's new Nikon D5300 Deals APS-C (DX) DSLR from its predecessor, the D5200. One of Nikon's best-selling and most popular models, the midrange 24.1-megapixel D5300's smaller and lighter body has improved ergonomics - there's more surface area on the grip for a tighter hold and more clearance between your fingers and the lens. Despite the body being smaller, the vari-angle flip-out LCD got bigger (3.2 inches from 3 inches in the D5200). With the Expeed 4 image processor the ISO range has increased (100-12,800). But the big addition is that Wi-Fi is now built into the camera - a first for Nikon DSLRs.

Another big change, Nikon has removed the optical low pass (anti-aliasing) filter from the 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, to improve the image quality of stills and videos - a trend that's happening with many new cameras. The D5300 has the same 39-point autofocus system and 5 frames-per-second continuous shooting as the D5200. There's also Nikon's Scene Reconigtion System that uses the 2,016-pixel RGB metering system to automatically select exposure, AF, and white balance based on the scene conditions.

Wi-Fi has been available in Nikon cameras via an optional adapter, but the D5300 will be the first to have it built in. It's also the first Nikon DSLR to have onboard GPS, which lets you geotag your images before you upload or e-mail them from the camera via a connected smartphone or tablet. You can also use a connected smart device as an external monitor for remote shooting.

For video capture, Nikon has added Full HD 1080p at 60p. There are nine special effects you can use to edit in-camera, including a "HDR painting" feature that lets you alter the colors of an image to make it look as if it was shot as a high-dynamic range photo.

The D5300 is on sale now for $1,400, which comes with the AF-S Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR kit lens; if you're stepping up and you already have a set of Nikkor DX lenses, you can pick up just the body for $800. The camera comes in three colors: black, red, and a new gray option.

AF-S Nikkor 58mm f/1.4G lens

In addition to the D5300, Nikon has also announced a new pro-level prime lens, the AF-S Nikkor 58mm f/1.4G. Carrying the legacy of popular Noct Nikkor 58mm f/1.2 lens, this fixed 58mm focal length (35mm/FX equivalent; 87mm DX/cropped format) is ideal for shooting portraits, landscapes, and street photography, Nikon says, but it's all about achieving bokeh - that artistic background blurring - with the nine-blade diaphragm. Made for low-light capture, the lens has Nikon's Nano Crystal coating to avoid ghosting and flare. The Silent Wave Motor operates quietly when autofocusing, which is key for recording video.

This premium lens will go on sale later this month for $1,700.

Nikon Releases Cryptic Teaser for New DSLR Camera

<Nikon D5300 Buy Cheapp>A man stands in an open field, a soft breeze rustling long strands of green grass around him. He gazes out at the landscape.

Though that scene might seem like a perfect opener for a gritty, independent film or a self-reflective novel, it's actually the beginning of Nikon's new teaser ad. Viewers watch a mysterious man, clad in a beige trench coat, as he adjusts something unseen with a couple of clicks. Right when he lifts what we know to be a camera to his face, the scene changes back to him in the midst of the gloomy landscape.

That teaser doesn't show the camera but it includes a very important sound that excited many camera fiends online - the distinct click of an old-school shutter. That small clue paired with one line of dialogue at the end - "It's in my hands again" - seem to hint that Nikon will release a retro-styled DSLR camera.

Little else is known beyond hearsay, with Nikon Rumors conjecturing that the full-frame camera will be called the Nikon DF, for "digital fusion." The post also claims the camera will include the same autofocus system found in the D610 and that it will offer settings for aspect ratios of 1:1, 3:2 and 16:9.

On its official site, Nikon explains the short video as the first in a series called Pure Photography. The videos follow a photographer traveling through Scotland as he "reunites with his creative self during this uniquely ambitious trip."

Crafts for Kids: A Toilet Paper Roll Bat!

    Crafts for Kids

If you're looking for a fun halloween crafts for kids Halloween craft for kids, or even a craft for a school lesson on bats, we have you covered!

From transforming classic Christmas "candles" with toilet paper rolls to toilet paper roll Valentines, it's no secret that I have a slight obsession with toilet paper roll crafts. Naturally, it was time for me to create a Halloween themed toilet paper roll craft!

    What You Will Need:

    1. 1 toilet paper roll

    2. Scissors

    3. A black marker or crayon

    4. A small piece of recycled white paper. I used a junk mail envelope.

    5. Hot glue gun/hot glue

    6. School glue. If you can, use eco glue!

    How To Do It:

    1. Color the entire toilet paper roll black. If you're feeling brave, you could have your children paint the rolls instead.

    2. Cut an inch off of one side of the toiler paper roll. This will become the body of your bat.

    3. With the remaining portion of the toilet paper roll, cut down the middle and lay it flat.

    4. Then, draw and cut out your bat wings. You should now have the following pieces:

    5. Make the face of the bat with your recycled white paper.

    6. Create a small fold at the end of each of your bat wings. Then, hot glue the fold to the side of the bat "body." Of course, you won't want any little hands on the hot glue gun- so adults, make sure you're in charge of this step! School glue might work for the bat wings, but hot glue adheres so much faster.

This is quite possibly the only bat in the world that I think is adorable (real bats look scary to me!). You could hang several bats from your ceiling so it appears that they're flying or you could use them as eco-friendly napkin rings!

What would do with toilet paper roll bats? Oh, and if you're already thinking about kids crafts for Thanksgiving, make sure you pin our toilet paper roll turkey for later!

In 'Toy Story of Terror!' a Road Trip Goes Awry

Once the annual avalanche of Halloween-themed episodes, specials and movies overtakes TV, you probably don't expect to be using the word "charming" very often. But charming perfectly describes one such entry, "Toy Story of Terror!," on Wednesday night on ABC.

Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the rest of the gang from the "Toy Story" movies find themselves in a Hotel Hell of sorts, thanks to an ill-timed flat tire. Mr. Pricklepants (Timothy Dalton), the stuffed hedgehog, takes the opportunity to show off his knowledge of horror movie tropes. (Yes, this is a PG version of the "Scream" conceit.) Soon, the plotlines he refers to begin materializing, as one toy after another disappears mysteriously.

All appears lost, as a nefarious hotelier and the lure of easy eBay money threaten to disperse the friends. It falls to Jessie the cowgirl (Joan Cusack) to try to save the day, but to do it she has to overcome personal demons. Highlights of this sweet, slightly scary tale include the funniest, most refined vomit joke you'll ever see.

Incidentally, "Toy Story of Terror!" makes for an interesting pairing with Sunday's episode of the Travel Channel show "Toy Hunter." In that series, Jordan Hembrough, a collectibles expert, hunts for rare playthings. Sunday's installment is cheekily titled "Toy Haunters," and the sought-after memorabilia includes "Ghostbusters" paraphernalia and a Ouija board.

Plenty more Halloween fare lies ahead. Among the most intriguing examples: Friday's episode of the ABC comedy "The Neighbors," in which Larry tries to merge Halloween and Hanukkah; "Zombie Night," a Syfy movie on Oct. 26 with Daryl Hannah, Anthony Michael Hall and Shirley Jones; and an Investigation Discovery special on Halloween itself called "Bloody Marys," about real female murderers named Mary.

    Toy Story of Terror!

ABC, Wednesday night at 8, Eastern and Pacific times; 7, Central time.

Produced by disney channel halloween movies Pixar. Directed by Angus MacLane; Galyn Susman, producer.

WITH: Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz), Joan Cusack (Jessie), Carl Weathers (Combat Carl/Combat Carl Jr.), Timothy Dalton (Mr. Pricklepants), Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Wallace Shawn (Rex) and Kristen Schaal (Trixie).

Duck Dynasty Halloween special episode costume photos

It's 'Duck or Treat' time in Louisiana y'all! Check out these amazing photos of the RoBOOtson family from the Duck Dynasty Halloween episode airing October 25 in which reality TV's funnest family-centric show pulls out all the stops with a wide array of costumes and what looks to be a haunted house in the warehouse!

Above we see Jep and Jessica Robertson as the colorful duo Raggedy Ann and Andy. (You just KNOW Jep got a good ribbing from the boys for that one!) And here's Uncle Si as a cartoonish squirrel. Or maybe a beaver? Actually, I think I will call it a sweet teaver...

And here's almost the whole Robertson family gathered around what looks to be a rather large mound of candy. (If you look closely you will be able to spot Willie and Jase, although it's hard to tell what costumes they are wearing.)

Although there are soooooo many great costumes, I guess if I were pressed to hand out awards I would have to give the Best Male Costume statuette to non-Robertson decoy technician and shipping manager extraordinaire, John Godwin. He not only had an awesome convict costume for adults costume, but in this photo he's giving an Emmy-worthy convincing performance in the role:

Godwin totally could have co-starred in Oh Brother Where Art Thou!!

There were a lot of great contenders for the Best Female Costume Award, but in the end there was one clear-and-away winner as brunette Korie Robertson was nothing short of frighteningly intimidating as Cleopatra! Or should I say, Koriepatra:

    " Walk like a Duck Dynastygyptian... "

Speaking of Best Female Costume, here are five of the Robertson ladies looking spooktacular and BOOtiful:

Let's not forget Ms. Kay! I think you will be able to figure out 'witch' one she is in this photo:

And here's another great shot of Ms. Kay and a whole passel of costumed chillen - all of which are smiling wide and looking to be having an amazing time. The same cannot be said for Phil Robertson, who appears to be dressed as Grandpa Grumpy McGrumperton:

To wrap things up, here's a shot of the Duck Commander Haunted House, which I am guessing is full of terrifying things like razors and shaving cream:

The Duck Dynasty Halloween Special airs Wednesday, October 23 at 10/9c on A&E!

OtterBox Commuter Series Wallet: To protect and to serve

OtterBox has been making protective 5s iphone cases otterbox black knight since 1998, making the company the great-granddaddy of the entire huge smartphone/tablet case market. The company announced a new member of the family yesterday, introducing the Commuter Series Wallet (US$44.95) for the iPhone 5/5s.

We've been seeing a lot of different wallet cases lately, many of which are more wallet (think leather) than protective case. OtterBox has taken the protection of the Commuter Series cases and merged it with a slide-out drawer-like back that can hold up to three credit or ID cards and one folded bill.

Like the other members of the Commuter Series, the Wallet wraps your iPhone 5 or 5s in rubbery silicone that is then surrounded by a tough polycarbonate shell. The screen is covered with a stick-on screen protector (it leaves space for the Touch ID-enabled home button of the iPhone 5s), so your preciousss is going to be in good hands while living in the Commuter Series Wallet.

There's a silicone door that covers the Lightning port, another one that covers the headphone jack, and soft buttons that cover the volume toggle and power switch. Installing the case is a piece of cake, although it takes some muscle to take it back off.

Once the case is on your iPhone 5, you can rest assured that whatever you put into the wallet "drawer" is going to stay put. It makes an audible "click" when shut, and requires a bit of pressure to open. I can verify that two credit cards and a driver's license fit into the case snugly, but I had no cash with which to check out the "one folded bill" claim...

If there's one negative I can find with the Commuter Series Wallet, it's that it's somewhat difficult to get cards out -- a small ramp on the bottom edge of the drawer would have made it a bit easier to slide cards out. As it is, you have to kind of pick them out with your fingers.

The Commuter Series Wallet is available now from OtterBox in black and glacier (white hard shell with gray silicone), and will soon be available in primrose (pinkish hard shell with light gray silicone). The case weighs just 2.0 ounces (56.7 grams), not bad considering the level of protection it provides. Unsurprisingly, it's a little thick at .71 inches (1.8 cm), but when you consider that the case can eliminate the need to carry a separate wallet, that's not a real issue.

Check out the video below for a demonstration of the Commuter Series Wallet Case, and then read on for a chance to win one of these cases.

    Conclusion

With the Commuter Series Wallet for iPhone 5/5s, OtterBox has entered the case wallet market with a bang. The case provides the excellent drop protection that the company's line is known for, and provides a convenient and secure way to carry an ID card and some credit cards.

    Pros

    • Reasonably priced for a high-quality protective product
    • Very lightweight
    • Positive feedback on the drawer mechanism insures that your cards remain safely stowed
    • Excellent build quality
    Cons

It would be nice if the cards could just slide out with pressure from a thumb; as it is, they must be picked out of the drawer one by one.
    Who is it for?

The iPhone 5/5s owner who is looking both for the protection of one of OtterBox's Commuter Series cases and the convenience of not having to carry a separate wallet

Glendale revises trash, recycling container rules

    <couponsp>

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The c ity of Glendale recently updated its ordinance regulating placement of sanitation and recycling containers, effective Jan. 1.

Under the changes, all residential containers for both garbage and recycling must be placed in the street at the curb.

With a few exceptions, this will be the new procedure on collection days. These exceptions are:

    * If your residence is located on an arterial street (a main thoroughfare) you will not place your containers in the street due to vehicle traffic. Place containers on the sidewalk, close to the curb, and allow pedestrians to walk on the sidewalk with no obstructions.

    * If you live in an area with alleys behind your home, you will continue to take your trash to the sanitation container in the alley, but you will place your recycling container in the street in front of your home.

    * A property with no access to the street and no sidewalk will place its containers at the edge of the driveway closest to the street.

    * A property with a detached sidewalk (open area between sidewalk and curb) in front of the home will place the container in the street at the curb.

The modification will provide unrestricted access to city sidewalks for all pedestrians in the community, reducing the need for pedestrians to navigate around sanitation containers and onto private property or city streets.

For additional information, questions or concerns, visit www.glendaleaz.com/sanitation or call 623-930-2660.

    Apple iPhone 5S Review

<5s iphone iphone 5s cases otterbox ebayp>With every major iPhone redesign comes the inevitable S series refresh a year later. Like the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 3GS before it, the new iPhone 5S takes last year's form factor and adds improved camera technology, a faster processor, and new features exclusive to the latest hardware. But while the iPhone 5S may be predictable, it's nonetheless exceptional, maintaining and improving upon Apple's outstanding software experience and the stunning design of the iPhone 5.

Save for the new, slightly larger camera and dual-LED 'TrueTone' flash on the back and TouchID fingerprint sensor in the home button, the iPhone 5S is identical to last year's model. Apple has maintained the same hardened glass front and aluminum chassis, but now it's offering two new colors - space gray and gold. Space gray is more or less last year's black model with a slightly lighter shade of aluminum, but gold is a true first for the iPhone series. Depending on where your preferences lie, the gold version may be regarded as either gaudy or gorgeous, but regardless of personal taste, it's refreshing to see Apple embracing colors outside of its longstanding black and white iPhone variants.

In spite of any drastic design changes, the iPhone 5S remains one of the best looking, most well-constructed smartphones on the market. Although the competition has shown renewed interest in design with devices like the HTC One, Lumia 925, and the Moto X, Apple remains unrivaled in its meticulous consideration for hardware.

Under the hood, the iPhone 5S' advancements are far more significant. Apple has laid claim to producing the world's first 64-bit processor in the world with the new A7 system-on-a-chip (SOC). While the actionable benefits of its 64-bit architecture are limited until more apps and games are developed natively or optimized to take advantage, the A7 has perceivable impact on the speed of iOS 7 and apps. Browsing through iOS 7's animation-heavy interface and launching apps is notably faster than the iPhone 5. In GeekBench 3 and 3D Mark benchmark tests, the iPhone 5S more than doubles the CPU scores of the iPhone 5 and three times the framerates when running intense graphics.

The iPhone 5S also commands a substantial lead in processing power over the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, accounting for a graphics boost of up to 32% and 38% in CPU benchmarks.

But the A7 means more than raw power - it actually enables useful features, like the iPhone 5S' expanded camera functionality.

Though the iPhone 5S' camera retains the 8-megapixel count of the iPhone 5, it's now capable of capturing 120 frames-per-second slow-motion video and 10 frames-per-second burst photography. Driven by the A7, the camera snaps photos and videos faster for cleaner, more detailed, and more vibrant shots. Burst mode's rapid capture speeds eliminate the need to time the perfect shot - just hold the shutter button down and the iPhone %S will snap a string of photos, automatically presenting the best of the bunch. Slow-motion, although viewed as a novelty, is actually one of my favorite features of the iPhone 5S.

Everything - even the most mundane of actions - looks incredible and epic in slow motion with smooth, detailed progressions. While many are certain to embrace the iPhone 5S' slow-motion camera for comedy, an equal share will create stunning montages.

Apple has also made improvements to the lens and sensor. The rear-facing camera now has a ƒ2.2 aperture lens and 1.5µ pixel sensor, which gathers and processes more light for better low-light photography and richer composition. Though the improvements aren't so significant to warrant an upgrade by itself, the iPhone 5S has one of the best smartphone cameras on the market.

The feature most likely to attract attention, however, is the new fingerprint scanner. Apple has built a new sensor into the home button, which is capable of detecting certain distinguishing elements of your fingerprint almost instantaneously. By simply placing your thumb on the sensor - or any finger, for that matter - the iPhone 5S can identify your fingerprint and unlock your phone. When you set up the iPhone 5S for the first time (or access the settings anytime thereafter), you can register a new fingerprint profile via a brief calibration process. The system asks that you repeatedly press your finger to the sensor, including the edges of your print, so that it can capture and store a unique TouchID. The iPhone 5S supports multiple profiles for multiple fingers and users, allowing you to give loved ones streamlined access to your device while maintaining a high level of security. It even allows you to forego the tedium of entering a password every time you want to download a new app - just scan your finger and you're good to go.

Initially, it took awhile for me to shake the learned behavior of waking my display and quickly entering a pin code, but once I became accustomed to TouchID, it became almost like second-nature. Gone are the days where I would mistakenly hit the wrong digit or press one number too many times. Now, I don't have to look at my phone while I unlock it - I just go straight to the primary UI and launch an app.

The only I gripes I've found with the iPhone 5S are minor. Calibrating the TouchID for each finger on either hand that you may choose to use to unlock your device can be time consuming. There were also times - albeit rarely - when the TouchID would fail to recognize my fingerprint, causing me to make repeated attempts before just unlocking the device manually, thus defeating the purpose entirely.

Apple is also becoming increasingly behind the curve in terms of battery life. While the iPhone 5S lasts for a day's worth of casual use, charge levels are substantially undercut by any rigorous app or game usage. The iPhone 5S remains within the acceptable margins, but falls short of larger Android and Windows Phone devices. I also encountered a few odd software bugs, wherein third-party apps would crash randomly and cause the OS to revert to the boot-up logo. It's possible that the issues stem from the absence of patched support for the A7's 64-bit architecture or lingering issues with iOS 7, but in either scenario, should be resolved easily with future updates.

OtterBox Commuter Series Wallet Arrives for iPhone 5s/5 and Galaxy S4

OtterBox is best known for making some of the most popular rugged 5s iphone cases iphone 4 otterbox commuter yellow for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4, and today they are adding to that line with a new OtterBox Commuter Series Wallet case.

The OtterBox Commuters Series Wallet case combines the protection of the popular Commuter series with a slot that holds up to three cards and one bill in a small slide out partition on the back of the case.

OtterBox boasts that this allows you to access your cards without flipping the case over like many other wallets and notes that the wallet compartment includes an audible click when opened and closed so you'll know your cards are securely tucked away.

    Read: Best iPhone 5s Cases

OtterBox sells two models of the Commuter Series Wallet. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5 model comes in black, white and grey and pink and light grey and fits both phones. Unlike the Defenders Series iPhone 5s case there is no need for a special version with a cutout for the Touch ID sensor. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Commuter Series Wallet is available in the same colors.

OtterBox sells the Commuter Series Wallet case for $44.95 for the iPhone 5s/5 and Galaxy S4 models with sales live on OtterBox currently.

OtterBox sent the iPhone 5s Commuter Series Wallet Case over and we've been using it today to get a feel for the new case option. The case is slightly thicker than the iPhone 5s Defender Series case we recently reviewed, but not too thick to use. The front of the case protects the edges of the device, and keeps any case parts away from the screen so it's easy to use the new iOS 7 gestures and the Touch ID on the iPhone 5s.

The case features a two piece design with a silicone inner and hard plastic outer shell. The only complaint about the back is that it is very slick and slides around much easier than a Defender case when on a hard surface. Flipping the phone face down solves this minor issue.

Three cards and one bill fit tightly in the wallet compartment, but removing them is easy enough to master. Three cards is the essential amount of space for most users as it can cover a ID, credit card and a debit card. While some users may have trouble slimming down to three cards every day, it will at least put your most used cards within reach. The wallet section opens easily and with a click. There is enough pressure that the wallet shouldn't open accidentally.

    Read: Best Galaxy S4 Cases

The case covers the volume and power buttons with rubber covers for easy pressing and leaves the mute switch uncovered. The headphone and charging ports are covered with the soft inner layer and work with most headphones and charging cords.

OtterBox includes a self adhesive screen protector in the bundle which may offer some added protection from scratches. The OtterBox Commuter Series Wallet Case is not waterproof.

Law of Cards: Collectors Universe Sues MWP Software over Pro-Coin and Pro-Sports Products

    <dcimg src="http://media2.cardboardconnection.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/PSADNALOGO_85.jpg">

Today, Law of Cards welcomes its newest member to the ever-growing list of companies that have brought trading card lawsuits: Collectors Universe!

On Sept. 16, Collectors Universe (CU), the owner of Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), sued a company called MWP Software and Matthew Perry for copyright, trademark and unfair competition infringement. The full complaint can be seen here.

Wait, wait, wait...Matthew Perry? Isn't that Chandler Bing from Friends?

Probably not, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was?

Anyway, CU's lawsuit focuses on two of its products: CoinFacts and Sports Market Report. CoinFacts is CU's online publication that provides historical information for coins as well as a population report ( quick translation: the number of specimens of each coin it has graded) and price guide. It also provides images of some of those coins. Sports Market Report basically does the same thing for trading cards. Both these products are subscription-based.

CU alleges that MWP's software products, called Pro-Coin and Pro-Sports, infringe its trademarks and copyrights for CoinFacts and Sports Market Report. Allegedly, Pro-Coin and Pro-Sports allow MWP customers to obtain and store content from behind the pay-wall for CoinFacts and Sports Market Report without a subscription.

In other words, CU alleges that MWP allows you to view and use CU's stuff, without having to pay CU.

So, why is Matthew Perry in this suit? Well, it appears that he subscribed to both CoinFacts and the Sports Market Report, and even though these two services have terms and conditions that prohibit republishing data and images contained therein, he's allegedly the one providing all of CU's information and images to MWP's Pro-coin and Pro-Sports products.

It's very early in this case, so it'll be interesting to see what MWP and Matthew Perry's response is...if it gets that far. Of note, Pro-Sports and Pro-Coin are no longer offered on MWP's site, so it just might be that this case is headed for a quick settlement.
