Locke hits out at defending

Hearts boss Gary Locke slammed his team's defending last night after losing 2-0 to Partick Thistle.

"The goals were a disaster," he said. "That really rankles me." (Daily Record)

Hibs 'ran out of steam'

Terry Butcher says Hibs may have run out of energy against Dundee United due to fatigue from the derby win over Hearts.

Hearts missed pair

Gary Locke admitted his side struggled in the absence of captain Danny Wilson and Jamie Hamill in Sunday's 2-0 loss to Partick Thistle.

Defender Wilson sat out a second successive match due to illness, while midfielder Hamill served a one-match suspension. The pair are regarded as two important players in a paper-thin squad made up mostly of youngsters.

Hibs 'improving'

Hibs boss Terry Butcher insisted he could not fault his players despite throwing away a two-goal lead.

He said: "We can't afford to be too disappointed as we are improving all the time and that is the main thing."
